Why You Should Book Next Year's Glamping Now !

By Hari Seddon Oct 22, 2020

If you’re into your glamping industry news, you’ll know that coolcamping.com (nominated as ‘Best Camping Holiday Company’ in the prestigious British Travel Awards two years running)  have reported that advanced summer bookings have had a huge surge, despite (or perhaps because of) social restrictions across the country.

Summer 2021 bookings are way surpassing expectations for this time of year, and bookings for this October to January are more than double those of previous years! Proof that staycations are here to, er, stay.

Cool Camping marketing manager James Warner Smith says “Continued uncertainty across the UK means that, even looking ahead to next year, foreign holiday planning remains out of the question for most people,”. Which is not surprising, considering how quarantine restrictions have been announced at a moments’ notice several times this year. “People witnessed how quickly things booked up in the UK this summer”, Warner continues, “and we’re already seeing popular places begin to fill for key weekends next season.”

“While things remain uncertain for the foreseeable future, one thing that is becoming clear is that next year is likely to be staycation focused again for the vast majority of travellers. As this realisation grows, we’re seeing people booking their holidays much further in advance than normal in order to secure their accommodation and beat the rush.”

We have, however, noticed that there are still a fair number of glampsites that haven’t released pricings and availability for 2021. And we get it, you want to make sure your pricing is what you need, and you need time to think about any additional items and services you want to offer as a business. We’re just saying, that if you’re part of the 22% of sites on coolcamping.com that haven’t released prices for 2021, you’ll want to get a wiggle on- as other booking sites are reporting similar uplifts. Website pitchup.com has  reported an increase of more than 500% on summer 2021 bookings (against 2020), and glamping collection Canopy and Stars says it has taken more bookings for August 2021 than for August 2020.

There’s already articles circulating about which glampsites will be sold out for next season by Christmas this year!

Now would probably be a good time to mention that if you’re ordering new Lotus Belle Tents for next season you should do that now! Please email us in the office at info@lotusbelle.co.uk.

Want to keep up to date with the sector too? We strongly recommend  International Glamping Business, CoolCamping, and frequently, The Guardian.
